I am a Senior Researcher at VATT Insitute for Economic Research in Helsinki. My research focuses on local public finance, regional and urban economics, and applied microeconomics more broadly. I study how public policy shapes and responds to the uneven spatial distribution of economic activity, with recent work examining place-based policies, housing markets, and local government incentives.
I hold a PhD in Economics from KU Leuven, where I was part of the Research Center for Regional Economics under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jozef Konings. Before joining VATT in 2019, I was involved in research projects on local taxation, entrepreneurship and regional development, and I gained experience in policy evaluation through both academic and applied work. I am also affiliated with Turku School of Economics, where I teach a Master’s course in empirical urban economics.
